大変(hard)

学校で、人生は大変なもの、社会は大変なところだと教えられるから、
人生が大変なものになり、社会が大変なところになるのかもしれない。

Maybe because we are taught at school that life is hard and society is a hard place, life becomes hard and society becomes a hard place.
